Timeline & Keyframes
The timeline is where your drawing becomes an animation — it controls when each element appears, how long it draws, and how it moves. Whiteboard Video Maker gives you both a simple timeline and finer keyframe control.
The timeline
Each element occupies a track on the timeline. Drag to set:
- Start time — when the element begins to appear.
- Duration — how long it takes to draw or reveal.
Play the whole sequence from the preview to feel the pacing.
Draw order
The draw order decides the sequence in which the hand reveals elements. Reorder it so your story unfolds logically — title first, then the supporting shapes, then the punchline.
Keyframes
For motion beyond a simple reveal, add keyframes to an element to animate:
- Position (move across the board)
- Scale (grow / shrink)
- Opacity (fade in / out)
- Rotation
Between keyframes the app interpolates the values. Use the animation curves editor to shape the easing (e.g. ease-in/out) rather than linear motion.
The drawing hand
A follow-along hand animation can trace strokes as they are drawn, reinforcing the "someone is drawing this" effect. It follows the draw order and the timing you set.
Transitions & timing helpers
- Transitions — move between scenes/segments with a transition effect.
- Smart timing — apply timing presets so reveals feel natural without hand-tuning every element.
- Beat markers — align reveals to a beat for rhythmic, music-synced animations.
- Loop markers — mark a segment as loopable.
- Auto-layout — arrange elements automatically.
Synced narration
Text and elements can be synced to narration so captions or labels appear exactly when they are spoken. See Audio & narration.
